A one-of-a-kind handcrafted artwork that was inspired by the iconic work of Vincent Van Gogh. The three dimensional sunflower sits prominently on top of a hand carved hickory background. This textured background is based on a selection from Van Gogh’s Starry Night painting, carved to invoke the appearance of short brush strokes.
This piece has a mix of modern and natural aesthetics, with so many details to get lost in. The maple wood grain shines through the yellow pedals of the flower, adding subtle natural design. The middle section of the sunflower is carved with the Fibonacci spiral of seeds, an example of the mysteriousness of the golden ratio in nature. The artwork really feels alive with the depth and flowing design.
The artwork is made from:
- A variety of high quality and carefully chosen hardwoods: black walnut, yellow dyed maple wood, and a panel of hickory wood.
- The panel is secured using a c-channel to ensure it’s a generational piece of artwork – avoid warping.
- 2” deep, handcrafted frame made from Red Oak. Secured with professional joinery (splines) and blackened with high quality hardwood oil.
Ready-to-hang with an easy to install metal cleat that will keep the piece secure and level on your wall. Instructions will be included in the shipment to help install the bracket on your wall. Artwork should be hung out of direct sunlight, since UV exposure will fade wood products over time.
